The anime Tsubasa CHRoNiCLE, apart from all the merchandising, video games (citation needed) and so on, has drama and vocal CDs called Tsubasa Chronicle Drama & Character Album [Oukyuu no Matinee]. They are divided in 3 chapters which are as follows, with their dates of release:

[DEC/16/2005] Chapter.1 ~Suijou Toshi Coral~ (Coral, the City on Water)

[FEB/01/2006] Chapter.2 ~Arienai Goal~ (An Impossible Goal)

[MAR/24/2006] Chapter.3 ~Ienai Serifu~ (Unspeakable Lines)

The three tell a story that would be an extra chapter of the anime, in a new world (in which Mokona feels one of Sakura's feathers) which the party arrives to, Coral, that bears a strong resemblance to the country of Clow, plus Yukito and Touya that also exist in this country ... but with the roles changed, Touya is the priest and Yukito is the Royal King.

"Oukyuu no Matinee" would be translated as "Matinee at the Royal Palace" (a matinee is a kind of play that takes place at dusk), which happens in this story: they perform a play to make the King Yukito smile, who has no feelings.

The story unfolds in a new world called "Coral", which seems to be an aquatic version of the country of Clow, as seen on the cover. And of course, it poses a splash just be transported to this new world (with Kurogane's anger towards the "white bun", obviously). As already mentioned, Coral holds another important similarity with Clow, and it is the presence of Touya and Yukito ... although with somewhat changed roles: Touya is the priest and Yukito is the king. In this world there is a new feather, but first the group must deal with a difficult mission: to make the king smile, who has no feelings, by performing a play, in the which Kurogane will sing (not before doing his exercises that will be heared during the drama). Princess Sakura decides to undertake this mission when he sees such a serious and lifeless Yukito: in another part of this drama we will hear her speaking to Syaoran about Clow's Yukito, a kind and loving person who she loves very much (although she is quick to clarify that "she does not love him 'that way'!").

After Fye has explained what his plan is to make the King smile, the first part of this short drama ends, which will continue in the Chapter.2 ~Arienai Goal ~ .

Apart from the tracks of drama, it includes the songs Zankou (Light of the Sword) and Towa no Omoi (Eternal Feelings), sung by Kurogane and Sakura, and their instrumental versions.

The Matinee of the Palace CD 2 cover

The Matinee of the Palace CD 2 cover [2006.2.1] "The Matinée of the Palace" Chapter.2 ~Impossible Goal~

  6. Bond(キズナ Kizuna) -Instrumental-

The story picks off where the last left off, when Fye explained his plan to make the King smile: to make a play. The script of this play is a version of how the three met (Fye, Kurogane and Syaoran) and began searching the memories of "the princess without a past." Fye will act as the director, adding some variations. Therefore, at the beginning of track 1, we see that the group is rehearsing. In this track, they also talk about their journey and how they came to know each other, looking back in time to develop the script. Part of the work is Syaoran's declaration of love to Sakura and the subsequent response that we all hoped, but due to the timidity of both, and especially Sakura, they can't say the entire phrase "suki da yo" (I love you). At last, the moment of the presentation comes, while they all work their hardest to interpret as best as possible, both the actors and the narrator Mokona, (having to remind Syaoran when Fye has to act) until we reach the climax where Syaoran tells the princess that she is his desire, and he loves her. When it comes to the answer, she goes back to not being able to speak, and we listen to their thoughts, in which she says she can not confess that she loves him.

Apart from the drama tracks, it includes the songs Kizuna (Emotional ties) and Smile, sung by Syaoran and Fye with its correspondent instrumental versions.

  7. Wings of Dreams (ユメノツバサ Yume no Tsubasa) (Duet Ver.) -Instrumental-

The third drama is the ending of the "Oukyuu no Matinee" story which begins where the previous chapter left off, with the group performing the play and Sakura stuck at the moment where she has to answer to Syaoran's confession of love. Despite all this, the king Yukito remains impassible, Touya thinking that there is no remedy for him and that it's not going anywhere... Syaoran asks the princess to improvise as she can't continue with the script. Sakura then speaks of her history, and that although she has lost her memories, she met Fye, Kurogane, Syaoran and Mokona, some dear companions, and she believes that perhaps their meeting was predestined. Just then she begins to remember that she met Syaoran before her trip, and as happened in Ôto, forgets it and falls asleep... that she must not remember is the price Syaoran paid to travel between dimensions looking for Sakura's feathers. Touya is interested in knowing what happened and the group tells the true story about the feathers and the price for Syaoran, which goes to the heart of King Yukito and looking sad, he recovers some of his feelings. Yukito signals Syaoran to continue explaining what happened, and they go with Mokona and Touya.
King Yukito opens the door that only he can open as king where his heart lies, the power that Mokona had felt was not a feather, but the heart of Yukito. Yukito asked a powerful magician to take away the heart of his body, he could not bear the pain of his childhood friend, Touya, was acting in a different and more formal way since he was crowned king. In addition, he explains to Syaoran that his sadness is nothing compared to that Syaoran must feel, knowing that Sakura will never remember his past, thanking him that he had been strong, for which his heart recovers voluntarily.
Finally, the group leaves saying farewell to the king and Touya, who wish them good luck on their journey, and once gone, Touya and Yukito decide to treat each other as equals when they're alone, calling themselves in an informal manner as when they were children. The drama ends with Sakura telling Syaoran that some day she'll be able to say those verses that were not pronounced.

Apart from the drama tracks, it includes the songs Tabi no Tochuu de Kibou no Uta wo Utaou (Sing a song of hope for the journey) and Yume no Tsubasa -Duet Version- (Wings of a dream), sung by Mokona and the duet Sakura and Syaoran, with their instrumental versions.
